Jennifer Alterman is a Board Certified Veterinary Dentist® and currently resides in Salt Lake City. From a young age Dr. Alterman knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. After obtaining an undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences at the University of Maryland she went on to obtain her DVM from the University of Florida. Dr. Alterman spent a year in Washington, DC at Friendship Hospital for Animals completing a rotating internship.

Following her internship, Dr. Alterman moved to Atlanta where she was a primary care and emergency veterinarian for three years. After discovering a passion for veterinary dentistry she completed a residency in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital in Denver, CO.

For the last 10 years she has been providing advanced dentistry and oral surgery services to the state of Utah. Dr. Alterman is excited to be expanding her services to veterinarians and veterinary dentists around the country.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Alterman can be found teaching wet labs and lectures around the country. She is also an active member of the American Veterinary Dental College in the Credentials Committee and as a lab instructor at the Veterinary Dental Forum.

Outside of work Dr. Alterman can be found enjoying the outdoors with her husband, Mark. No place is too remote! She is also an avid crafter with interests in quilting, bag making, and cross stitch.
